Holier than thou behavior in the Salesforce ecosystem

“Being an Admin is easy.”

If you ever want to piss off a Salesforce Admin, say that.

In a recent conversation with some Admins, they’ve mentioned Developers they’ve worked with in the past have subtly or explicitly belittled them.

  • “It’s only configuration. Do you really think that will take x hours?”
  • “You don’t know how to write Apex?”
  • “I don’t know why you suggested __. At {!$PreviousPrestigiousCompany}, we didn’t do it that way.”

Developers and admins have complementary skill sets that, when combined, make for a lethal combination for any Salesforce customer.

Why ruin that with unnecessary comments that negatively impact your team dynamics?

Question for you: Have you seen this in your workplace?
